Team Relations Manager, XPRIZE Quantum

Brock Denton is the Team Relations Manager for the Google Quantum Applications Prize at XPRIZE. In his role, he supports competing teams as they strive to accelerate quantum algorithms towards achieving quantum advantage for positive real-world applications. He reports to Kathrin Spendier, the Technical Prize Director for the Google Quantum Applications Prize.

Brock is driven by emerging technology, enjoying the process of ideating and experimenting with fellow innovators, which has guided his work in cloud computing, web3, and now quantum applications. At Cigna, he led the development of one of the company’s first cloud-based data platforms, significantly improving data access and governance across the enterprise. Following Cigna, he moved to a web3 startup, where he managed community engagement and strategy, successfully launching new financial products. Now at XPRIZE, he dedicates his efforts to supporting teams in developing quantum applications with the potential to transform multiple industries.

Brock holds a BS in Management Information Systems and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Product Management at the University of Maryland. He actively participates in Yale Quantum Conferences, including their first Quantum Hackathon, where he helped develop a quantum random number generation application. Throughout his career, he has worked in R&D, IT, and business departments, building a versatile skill set in product management, cross-functional teamwork, and technical innovation, which he now brings to his role at XPRIZE.

Outside of work, Brock enjoys spending time with his family, playing games, and staying active. A proud lacrosse dad, he coaches his daughter’s team and continues to play the sport in an adult league, bringing his strategic mindset and passion for teamwork to the field.
