Ben Combes is a macroeconomist and strategist who works at the frontier of climate and energy. He is a co-founding Director of the Sustainability & Climate Strategy business at Monitor Deloitte and a Visiting Senior Fellow of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, at the London School of Economics. He specializes in strategy, economics, and technology-enabled structural change. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2021, Ben was a Net Zero Advisor to Microsoft and a Knowledge Advisor to the World Economic Forum, as co-founder of the award-winning Innovation & Sustainability practice at PwC.

Ben has deep expertise in climate change: he was a founding team member of the UK’s Climate Change Committee in 2008, a Co-Principal to the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate in 2014, and in 2018 joined the Advisory Board to the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change. In 2020 he was a launch Director of the Transform to Net Zero global cross-sector initiative, and was a core representative for WBCSD’s global Vision 2050 agenda, launched in 2021.

Ben is a dual UK-US citizen and holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
